It’s been a big week for writer/director Abe Forsythe and producer Matt Reeder. The pair arrived home just in time for Tropfest, having collected the Grand Prize last Thursday at the Mofilm Pepsi Short Film Competition, announced in Barcelona, for their film GPS.

The award was judged by academy Award Winner Jon Landau, producer of Avatar and Titanic, and was selected out of a field of 761 entrants. Abe and Matt are pictured left with Landau.

GPS is about a man who begins receiving life advice from his GPS navigational system. It stars Henry Nixon (The Pacific) and Emma Lung (The Jammed). Source

You can watch the short film here or see 3 captures in our gallery (yes, our girl doesn’t get much screentime but then again, the whole thing is only 60 seconds long!). Enjoy everyone! :)

Take an exclusive peek at Harper’s BAZAAR’s ‘Wonderland’ spread for the soon-to-be-released April issue. Featuring eight iconic stories shot in eight iconic Australian settings, this is a landmark shoot in more ways than one.
Featuring famous Australian faces styled into classic fairytales and folklore favourites, the shoot includes Natalie Imbruglia, Emma Lung, Sophie Lowe, The Australian Ballet Company and even the Bra Boys as Ali Baba’s 40 thieves (Michelle Leslie plays Ali Baba – nice).
The clothes featured in the shoot are also made up of an all-Australian lineup of designers, including Romance Was Born, Lover, Josh Goot and sass & bide.

You can watch a short behind-the-scenes video here!

The Sydney heat made it difficult for everyone to get into the mood for David Jones’s winter 2010 presentation, until the waterfall behind the stage kicked into gear.

The theme for the show was “A Long White Winter” but really it was just another chance to look at the department store’s divine ambassador Miranda Kerr. And Macquarie bankers should feel safe looking through our gallery because the petite beauty is fully clothed in offerings from Alex Perry and Bianca Spender.

There was a lot of love for Lanvin-style looks on the catwalk but the real outpouring of affection was for Kerr, with front row guests Pip Edwards, Emma Lung, Sarah-Jane Clarke, Heidi Middleton and Deborah Hutton giving the waif plenty of nourishing applause. (Source)

A GROUP of award-winning Sydney hairdressers will take part in a blow-wave marathon to raise money for victims of the Haiti earthquake.
Tomorrow’s blow-dry blitz is being organised by Blow Off, a group started by Gilly Parry that aims to unite hairdressers for charity. The Red Cross says 1 million people have been hurt or left homeless by the quake.
Hamish Glianos, whose salon People Hairdressing in Surry Hills will host the event, said it was good so many people in the industry had supported the cause. ”There has been such a great response … lots of people want to get involved,” he said.
For a $35 donation, customers can have their hair blow-waved, or, for an extra $100, they can have a cut, too. A number of celebrities, including actresses Emma Lung and Claudia Karvan, will attend. (Source)

I made and uploaded 25 captures from The Boys Are Back – unfortunately, Emma’s part was even smaller than I had expected and appearantly they also cut out the sex scene she had to do with Clive Owen. But nevertheless, I think she did fantastic as friendly bartender Mia and hopefully her other scenes will be featured on the DVD! Fingers crossed! :)
